PHOTOS I’VE NOTED ON REDDIT
I am going to be dropping images here, that I I’ve seen and noted on REDDIT. I just copy from the screen and sometimes quickly edit, so don’t take to much note of finer quality issues.

In this case the broken objects on the frame and the perspective distortion distract from the beautiful colours and the washing.

Changing the aspect ratio and cropping alter the character of this brilliant photograph by SurrealHallucination on Reddit. Of course there are many different aspect ratios and cropping possible – here are a few I like.

By the way I expanded the image using Snapped on iPad before cropping.
Another Style of Photo – 2
Night scenes with lots of bright colours take on a new feeling with this abstract transformation.

Standout Photos 4 – A Housefront in Cluny
I’m trying to understand what makes images that stand out for me unlike this one and whether this is the same for everyone.

I have many photographs of old buildings in the cathedral town of Cluny in various states of repair and a range of finishes – this one seems to stand out. Is it because I took time to cut out all perspectives and cropping in on detail rather than getting the whole house, is it the colours or the shear ordinariness of the subject?

Cropping and healing the foreground changes the character of the photo – depends if you like the new look and if you can do without the ice.

Stand Out Photos 3
I’m trying to understand what makes images that stand out for me like this one and whether this is the same for everyone.

Pretty pointless nondescript water drops on glass in front of a small (1%of photo) black figure, bang in the middle of the frame. Very little to see besides the drops due to mist on the glass or in the surroundings.
What makes this a standout is the red umbrella the person carries and their evident battle to get out of the rain.

I’m sure this is a much more interesting photograph of a Junglescape than SOP1 from a botanical, adventurer or nature study point of view, but as a photograph it is very mundane. Not a standout.
